Sevylor Tahiti Classic Review

The Sevylor Tahiti Classic is one of the oldest kayak designs around, it was originally released in 1963 and has been incredibly popular ever since. As this kayak is self-bailing it can handle most water types and seat two people fairly comfortably, thanks to the inflatable moveable/removable seats.

For the incredibly low price of this kayak you get a fun boat with a design that has stood the test of time. It offers storage in both the front and back of the kayak and will hold up to 400 lbs at any one time. This should be enough for two fully grown adults as well as some bits and pieces such as food or camping equipment.

While the construction of this canoe isn’t bad, the PVC design won’t last you a lifetime, it weighs just under 25 pounds which makes it extremely easy to transport from one location to another and even easier to store away when not in use.

At 10 feet 7 inches long and 2 feet 7 inches wide the Sevylor Tahiti Classic also features 2 spray covers for protection, optional directional skeg and tubular I-beam floor for stability.

While the Sevylor Tahiti Classic is well loved, it is geared towards beginners and children, even thought it will survive on high grade rapids if you are more advanced. If you are looking for a kayak that is longer lasting then you may want to look at something more sturdy such as the X.
